Race Calendar Newsletter | Week Ending 25th November 2012

Hey runners,

Not that we’re conspiracy theorists but it really does seem that each year goes by quicker than the last. Only 4 weeks till Christmas…! As usual there was a large group of races that took place around the world this past weekend. We are now moving into the part of the year where winter seems too close for comfort in the northern hemisphere, and it’s warming up big time in the South.

One very unique race that took place on the weekend was the La Transtica Ultra Trail 2012 in Costa Rica. This race, like many other adventure races is tough, and only the brave dare to take part. What makes this race tougher than most is the oppresive heat an humidity.

La Transtica Ultra Trail 2012 Stage 1:

2nd : Wayne Rice, 5h20’27

  • Race Report: Whinlatter Off Road Duathlon @ Keswick, Cumbria, UK. Excerpt: A high quality field lined up for the 4th Whinlatter off road duathlon and the standard of racing certainly didn’t disappoint as an epic battle ensued throughout. Whinlatter is described as England’s only true mountain forest and with 1100m of ascent incorporated into the 7Km/18km/6km course with barely a flat section of trail, this gives an indication to the toughness of the event.
