Luke Shipway from Events Logic UK sent us this report from the Clock Change Challenge:
The return of The Clock Change Challenge 10km and Fun Run at Calne Leisure went off with great success. The first event which has coincided with Easter Sunday and the Clock Change.
Sunday’s edition of the Clock Change is a repeat of the October event. The event was held as Race 3 in the Wiltshire Race League. The CCC is supported by Sainsbury’s Store in Calne and Push Active of Devizes.
Congratulations go out to Simon Nott who won the race in 32:16. This smashed the course record by 00:52 which was previously set by Simon.
Ryan Vale, who was assisted by Heather and Reuben Smith, were running to support RunWithMe – a charity created to increase the quality of life for disabled athletes and inspire those around them. RunWithMe defines its primary purpose as the provision of a stimulating recreational resource in the community, while recognizing a unique opportunity to improve the quality of life, health and well-being of others.
The ladies were frantically paced with a close finish between winner Naomi Webber (38:22) and runner up Claire Thompson (38:25).
In the fun run, our run away winner was Henry Cex, who accelerated from the start line.
Manager Mike Stuart commented on this, ‘We are extremely pleased with the number of entrants considering the race fell on Easter Sunday. We had a record of 218 entrants. We are looking forward to our next event on October 27th. Our thanks goes to all the runners and our invaluable volunteers and marshals who help out on the day’.
