The latest race in the Pilling 10k series saw a new race record set by Lancaster & Morecambe athlete Steve Worthington. Steve ran away from the rest of the field from the start and recorded a fantastic time of 33m.02 to win by over four minutes. Next Lancaster runner was Michael Roy running strongly in 41m.46, followed by Dave Worthington who was first veteran 60 in a good time of 49m.30. Other finishers: Karen Davis 1h.00.59, David Winkfield 1h.01.00 and Helen McGregor 1h.03.26.
At Garstang half marathon first Lancaster runner back was Tony Jewitt, who finished well up the field in ninth place with an excellent run of 1h.34.44. In next was Sean Davis in 41st with a good run of 1h.36.48, followed by Andrew Haley in 52nd running well in 1h.40.13. Other finishers: David Wilkinson 1h.41.40, Claire Nance 1h.47.37, Robert Marley 1h.48.09, Carole Wilkinson 1h.52.51, Bill Gardner 2h.02.04, Emily Stapleton 2h.10.42.
