The latest on the club runners from Lancaster & Morecambe AC, sent in by Road Captain, Louise Gardner:
Lancaster & Morecambe AC athletes have been busy racing over the last few weeks and have been enjoying some superb performances.
The Lancaster half marathon proved as popular as ever with over 550 runners completing the 13.1 miles. First back for the local club was Phil Lowery, who had a fantastic run to finish well clear in second place in a great time of 1h.18.37. In next were Mark Gardner and David Brown, enjoying the race together and finishing in 10th and 11th position respectively, both in a good time of 1h.22.33. Next was Tom Greaves who completed the race in 1h.30.38 in 49th place overall.
First female for the club was Joanne Taylor, who ran an excellent race of 1h.35.20 to finish second in the veteran 40 category and 87th overall. Joanne was well backed up by Louise Goddard who ran a cracking 1h.35.36 for third veteran 45 and 89th overall.

The final race in the Pilling 10k race series had the biggest field so far, with over 60 runners taking part. First back for Lancaster was Raymond Edgar, battling hard to the line to run a fantastic personal best time of 34m.22 and taking fourth place in a well contested race. In next was Mark Leadbetter running well in 39m.52 to finish 17th overall, followed by Michael Roy in 42m.17 finishing in 21st place.
Other finishers: Andrew Whitton 44m.38, Carole Wilkinson 48m.27 and Michelle Whitton 55m.35.Two Lancaster athletes took part in the Windmill 10k race in Lytham. Phil Lowery continued his good form with a fine run of 36m.01, finishing an excellent fourth place out of over 600 runners and first veteran 50. Michael Roy also ran well, with a good effort of 42m.09 placing him 73rd overall.
