Race Reports: Lancaster & Morecambe AC, 22nd October 2013

The latest on the club runners from Lancaster & Morecambe AC, sent in by Road Captain, Louise Gardner:

The first Lancaster trail half marathon organised by My Tri Events was held last weekend and Lancaster & Morecambe AC runners enjoyed a successful day, winning both first men’s and women’s prizes.
The event was a one-way route held entirely on the Lancaster canal, making the race very scenic as well as quite difficult underfoot in places.

Clear winner was Lancaster’s Kieran Rowlands, taking victory by over a minute with a fantastic effort of 1h.19.34. Not to be out done, team mate Louise Goddard also won by a clear one minute margin, finishing first female in an excellent 1h.41.08.

Andrew Haley ran well finishing in 1h.38.20, with Christina McGuire following with a good effort of 1h.44.30.
Other finishers: Gillian Hamilton 2h.00.16, Karren Cooper 2h.00.33, Emily Stapleton 2h.14.07 and Linda Stapleton 2h.21.21.
