The ‘Nuts Challenge’ is one of the longest and toughest military assault courses in the world. Based in Dorking, Surrey the 7 km course is owned and run by ex-parachute-regiment soldiers and is designed to push ‘Nutters’ to their absolute limits.
The Nuts Challenge is one of the only UK courses that has permanent obstacles all year round, including Hell River, Escape from Arnhem, Tunnel Rats, The Bomb Crater and Kamikaze. It was rated ‘Toughest Event of the Summer 2012’.
This weekend saw approximately 1,500 people take part in the largest ever Nuts Challenge, with competitors coming from across the UK. Several celebrities joined the Nutters to prove they have what it takes, alongside professional athletes, charity runners, fancy dress fans, and of course several stag and hen parties.
Competitors take an average of 1 ½ hours to complete one lap of the course, and should you wish to add a second, third or even fourth lap these options are also available. Affectionately known as ‘Tough Nuts’, the gruelling four-lap version of the course is for hardcore athletes only, and takes 4-6 hours to complete.
Contestants from Britain’s Next Top Model, Radio 1’s breakfast team, and Apprentice contestants have all taken part in the course, and many TV shows and game launches such as Call of Duty: World at War happen at the site.
