First to kick off the events were some hardy trail runners who lined up at the start in the great spring weather to take on the new 12 mile circuit. The challenging cross country route looped around Spirthill Trail, taking runners through both woodland and farmland; presenting competitors with some steep inclines, water, mud and slippery slopes to manage.
