The latest on the club runners from Lancaster & Morecambe AC, sent in by Road Captain, Louise Gardner:
The second Grizzly Glasson Dock Half Marathon treated it’s participants to 13.1 miles of mud, water and obstacles, including a crawl through two water filled tunnels. Despite all this, the runners enjoyed the experience and survived a tough race, although they were covered in mud by the end. Two Lancaster & Morecambe athletes were taking part; Calvin Routledge had a strong run to finish fourth overall in 1h.39.14 and Bill Gardner finished 18th in 2h.12.27. The organisers would like to thank the Victoria Inn at Glasson Dock, Endure Health & Fitness and all the marshals for ensuring a successful day.
There were a number of Lancaster athletes at the Stanley Park 10km race in Blackpool and first one to finish was Phil Lowery who had a super run of 36m.05 finishing 16th out of and first veteran 50. In next was David Wilkinson with a good run of 44m.38, followed by Russell Wareing in 47m.27 and Charlie Satterly in 47m.53. First female for Lancaster was Carole Wilkinson with a fine effort of 52m.07.
