Here are some astounding pictures of Ricky Lightfoot running the route of the Scafell Pike Trail Marathon. High Terrain Events was recce-ing the route ahead of the race date in May.
The Scafell Pike trail marathon is a brand new event for 2013, the highest trail marathon in England.
Ricky has been really keen to run the full route and was very impressed: “a lot tougher than I thought as the trails in the Borrowdale valley are technical also, lots of rocks, etc. This combined with the 1800m of ascent makes it a very challenging course”.
Excellent winter conditions made for these stunning photographs with deep snow and about -20c wind chill!
