Race-Calendar Newsletter | Week Ending 28th October 2012

Evening runners,

There were loads of  races on this weekend and as usual many were in rain, hail, and shine. We hope you had a good one!

If you haven’t already, make sure you sign up for race notifications to receive reminders of races from around the world, or just from your area. There are two ways to do this:

1. The easiest and simplest is to click the “Connect to Race-Calendar” Facebook button in the sidebar of this page: https://news.race-calendar.com/. This way you will receive an instant notification when something new or exciting has happened, i.e. a new race listed, results and report, and photos. It’s simple, it only takes 1 click.

2. For a more comprehensive approach, make sure you sign up for our weekly subscription service (it’s completely free), and choose from which region you’d like to receive race notifications. For example, if you live in the USA, you can choose to only receive race notifications from the states. You will receive and email once per week with new races.

This way you have control over what information you receive.

Also, don’t forget our Competition / Give-Away Prize Draw! Subscribe to Race Notifications for Chance to Win Free Calendar Every Week! Go Here for Full Details

New Feature Coming Soon – Hotel Bookings: Once again our hamsters on the wheel have come to us with another super feature for our running friends around the world. You’ve all seen the race map we produce, with pins of races around the world and in your location. Very soon you will not only be able to find your race, but also find and book hotels in that area. Now that’s pretty cool.

Stay tuned and we’ll let you know when this very cool, and in demand feature will be live!

 Race Repots & Photos:

The winner was Andrew Fallas of the Carnethy Hill Running Club in a time of 70m 35s. This was the first time Andrew has run the race but it is not unusual to have first-timers winning our race.

Congratulations to everyone that completed the Wettest Woolmer Event Ever. “Care of the recent weather, our Woolmer event that took place on Saturday was seriously wet and a real leg-burner.”

Despite a stiff headwind a new course record was set at the 9th annual The Other Half (Moab, Utah) by Boulder, Colo., runner Kenyon Neuman with a time of 1:09:09, beating out the old record of 1:09:50 set in 2009. Marty Wacker of Grand Junction, Colo., came
in second with a time of 1:20:05.
The 2012 Lodge to Lodge Half Marathon and Bayleys 10 km was a great success. Entry numbers exceeded last years with final count of 206. Additional to that the new kids race generated 47 children competing.

With mirror images reflected in the lake, forest & woodland in full autumn splendour, and a stunning mountain backdrop, this was the setting for the inaugural Ennerdale Trail Race.

Upcoming Races:

4th Annual 5K Fun Run/Walk For Alzheimer’s @ Northgate at Menno Haven, Chambersburg, PA, United States on 03 November 2012
