This race report was sent to us from Becky Russell at AllAboutTriathlons:
The inaugural Weybridge Running Festival took place this Saturday 1st June and was blessed with lovely sunshine and “fast and furious” trails – racing flats were the order of the day!
Theodore Patel, Jack Butler and James Holloway were first, second and third respectively for the men in the 5km, whilst Veronica Travesani brought it home for the women, with Sarah Hollobone and Zone Hibbert close behind from a total field of 37.
In the 10km event, Paul Rodgers came in first, with Steffen Graetsch and Varuna Rajapakse not far behind. For the women, Monkia Molnar finish first, with Vicky Winter and Krystina Pincott second and third behind her of a total field of 119.
The Alms Race was won by Matthew Rea with Hugh Bakowski and James Rashleigh finishing top three of the men, and Clair Haslett, Harriet Ingham and Betina Satterly all made easy work of the obstacles!
The hospitality of the Whiteley Villagers was much appreciated, and added a real community feel to the event. The Alms Race was to raise money for the village’s Cottage Appeal and all contributions will be greatly appreciated by the local residents. Congratulations to all the runners who took part in the event.
