Race Report: Bowood Duathlon @ Wiltshire, UK on 6th October 2013

This report comes to us from Steve at Events Logic:

James Coleman was delighted after storming home to win Events Logic UK’s  sprint duathlon event on Sunday.  The grounds of Bowood House set the scene for a fast 100% closed road course for competitors; who started with a 5km run, followed by a 21km bike race, rounded off with another 5km run.  James Coleman, an experienced triathlete, decided to round off his season by tackling the sprint duathlon. He raced home one minute ahead of the rest of the field to win this prestigious   event in one hour, fourteen minutes.

Amy Devries,  took first place in the women’s sprint duathlon. Amy was a bit concerned that her run was a little slower than usual, but she roared through all three sections of the race to finish in just over one hour, twenty nine minutes, a whopping five minutes  ahead of the rest of the field.

Organisers, Events Logic UK, made very good use of the beautiful grounds at Bowood House to create an ultra fast 100% closed road course for a super-sprint duathlon.  Here competitors tackled a 2.5km run followed by a 12.0km bike race and another 2.5km run to finish.

In the men’s race, Jerry Rayner was the first to finish in a time of 45:06.  Jerry was really pleased with his performance as this was his first experience of the Bowood course . He said, ‘this was good fun and great surroundings at Bowood for the competition. I’m really pleased with my performance and will be back for more next year’.

Helen Jubb  was the first to finish the women’s super-sprint event.  In a time of  50.20.

This year we introduced aTri star event for ages from 9 to 14 year olds .

We will be back at Bowood in 2014 with triathlon on 28th and 29th June and Duathlon on the 5th October. All prices are discounted until 1st December 2013.
