Events Logic UK Duathalon | Bowood House

Phil Kruse was delighted after storming home to win Events Logic UK’s first sprint duathlon event on Sunday.  The grounds of Bowood House set the scene for a fast closed circuit course for competitors; who started with a 5km run, followed by a 21km bike, rounded off with another 5km run.  Phil Kruse, an experienced triathlete, decided to round off his season by tackling his first ever sprint duathlon. He raced home one minute and thirty seconds ahead of the rest of the field to win this inaugural event in 01:16:04.

Lara Spearman, took first place in the women’s sprint duathlon. Lara was a bit concerned that her run was a little slower than usual, but she roared through all three sections of the race to finish in just over 01:32:03, just seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

Organisers, Events Logic UK, made very good use of the beautiful estate at Bowood House to create an ultra fast off road course for a super-sprint duathlon.  Here competitors tackled a 2.5km run followed by a 12.5km bike and another 2.5km run to finish.

In the men’s race, Alex Painting was the first to finish in a time of 45:29.  Alex was really pleased with his performance as this was his first experience of competing in this type of event. He said, ‘this was good fun and great surroundings at Bowood for the competition. I’m really pleased with my performance and will be back for more next year’.

Judith Rice was the first to finish the women’s super-sprint event.  Judith, who had been affected by a cold over the last week, managed to shake it off to finish in a very speedy 49:06.
