Race Report: Cotswold End of Season Standard Triathlon, Sunday 15th September 2013

This race report for the Cotswold End of Season Standard Triathlon, on Sunday 15th September 2013, was sent in by Steve at Events Logic:

Well over 200 triathletes took part in our last visit to lake 62 this year, the weather stayed dry throughout the race. The race consisted of a 1500m lake swim, 41K bike ride through quiet scenic Cotswolds country lanes and finished with a 10K run around the lake itself.

After a strong lake swim Fabrice Galbourdin was slightly down in the men’s race and likewise Laura Fuller in the women’s race. Fabrice moved closer to the leaders at the end of the biking as did Laura Fuller in the women’s race.

The Olympic distance triathlon concluded with a pacy 10km run. Conditions for the run were dry, despite the overnight heavy rain. Here Fabrice Galbourdin posted a fast time to come through and win the men’s race in a total time of 2hrs 6mins 3 seconds. Laura Fuller was the first women’s finisher in an impressive 2hrs 25mins 18 seconds.

Second Male was James Hartwright in a time of 2hrs 7mins 27 seconds. Third was Simon Brian in a time of 2hrs 13mins 36 seconds.
Second female was Katie Hooper in a time of 2hrs 34mins 9 seconds. Third was Lucy Hartwright in a time of 2hrs 34mins 56 seconds.
