The latest on the club runners from Lancaster & Morecambe AC, sent in by Road Captain, Louise Gardner:
Lancaster & Morecambe athletes have been enjoying success at local road races recently.
At the Guy’s 10 mile race near Preston first Lancaster runner was Louise Goddard, with a superb run of 1h.10.50 placing her 85th overall. In next was George Parrington who ran well with 1h.19.29 and George was followed by Duncan Orme who ran 1h.24.58. At the ever popular Ulverston ‘Christmas Pudding’ 10k over 300 runners took part. Phil Lowery was first Lancaster finisher, running an excellent 35m.24 to finish fourth overall and first veteran 50 and finishing just 10 seconds and one position behind was team mate Kieran Rowlands. Next was David Wilkinson with a good effort of 44m.22.
First woman for the club was Carole Wilkinson with a strong run of 49m.23, followed by Helena Lewis running 51m.18 and super veteran Evelyn Elkington finished first veteran 75 with an amazing 1h.02.58.
Other finishers: Greg Lambert 47m.50, Keith Carman 54m.24.
