The latest on the club runners from Lancaster & Morecambe AC, courtesy of Road Captain, Louise Gardner:
The third race in the monthly Lancaster 5k race series was held last weekend, with 65 runners taking part.
First back for Lancaster & Morecambe AC was Lee Parrington, finishing strongly in 17m.12 in 13th position. In next was Peter Twigg with a good effort of 17m.58 placing him 15th and chasing him to the line was Tony Jewitt who finished two positions behind in 18m.03.
First female for the local club was Joanne Taylor, with a super run of 20m.43 placing her fifth female. Close behind was Louise Goddard running well in 21m.10, followed by Carole Wilkinson in 22m.42.
Other finishers: Kevin Wilson 18m.52, Gareth Richardson 19m.32, Ian Mercer 19m.58, Craig Hollindrake 20m.56, David Wilkinson 21m.40, Matthew Mitchell 22m.02, Emily Stapleton 23m.25, Rebecca Hollingdrake 23m.48, Laura Gardner 24m.21, Richard Stapleton 29m.49, Linda Stapleton 30m.08 and Martin Allott 36m.53.
The Bentham Beagles Bash 10k in High Bentham was held on 21st July and several Lancaster runners took part. Phil Lowery was first back for the club, taking second place overall out of over 80 runners with a cracking run of 37m.36. The club also took first and second in the ladies race, with Helen Booth claiming top spot with a superb run of 41m.52 and taking the next position was Maria Snell with a good run of 43m.26.
Joanne Taylor followed with a run of 45m.54 and Andrew Haley was next in 49m.31.
